I had an email chat with CaRT about telephone numbers a few weeks ago. As I understand it, the emergency number 0800 47 999 47 is still in existence.

Email: Tempting

What a lot of sense John Howard speaks. Whilst it is assumed that home mooring means a marina berth, many home moorings may be a farmers field with no facilities, and with difficult access, so a honeypot mooring can be tempting to an over-stayer.

Wanted—a level playing field

Contradicting the boss

IN CLAIMING that Canal & River Trust has the right to amend/interpret the 1995 British Waterways Act anyway that it sees fit (Can CaRT interpret the law as it wants?), its Head of Enforcement, Simon Salem, is directly contradicting his boss, Richard Parry, writes Allan Richards.
