Santa at Gloucester

THE waterway museums are all giving children a treat with Santa cruises, and Gloucester Waterways Museum is no exception.

Santa will be in his on-board Grotto on the pleasure boat King Arthur on 10th and 11th December, and from 17th December through to Christmas Eve. He'll be handing out presents to the children and making sure the grown-ups get a nice hot drink and a mince pie.

Extra dates

Doreen Davies, the Museum Manger, explained:

"We're so lucky to have Santa come every year. He has lots of difficult locations where he has to land his sleigh, so I suppose landing on a boat is quite easy for him. And this year he's visiting on extra dates in early December."

The Sail with Santa cruises at the museum are a big hit with the children. Each child gets a gift and everyone gets a 45 minutes cruise with Santa on board with them.

Carvery Cruises

The Museum is also running lunchtime Carvery Cruises on the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal from 12th to 16th December. The two-hour cruise includes a two course Christmas dinner.

The Sail with Santa cruises cost £7 per person (this is a reduction against last year's price of £9 per person).
