IT WAS SOME TIME since Lock 14 on the Grantham Canal was restored.

There is hope

But there is now hope for Lock 13 to at last also be restored.

Grantham Canal Society is preparing to start on this lock but it needs more volunteers to help so that the society can undertake more days work on the project.

Work is expected to start soon on Lock 13, with the  picture showing how it is now.

Of course it requires a deal of clearance before the actual work of rebuilding can begin, but it is hoped that with more volunteers this can quickly be completed so that work can begin on construction.

In addition

In addition to this the society needs more volunteers on its maintenance teams, as without such the restored sections of the waterways becomes overgrown.
