Desperate to sell winter moorings

BRITISH WATERWAYS must be desperate to sell their winter moorings writes Gillie Rhodes.

So much so that they are ‘stretching' the truth a bit by advertising the winter moorings at Hungerford on the Kennet & Avon Canal as having, amongst other things, rubbish disposal, car parking, showers and toilet facilities, when in fact there are none of those things...

Pretty annoyed

I would be pretty annoyed if I had taken up expensive winter moorings here expecting these facilities.

In actual fact there is a pump out, Elsan disposal and water tap about half a mile from the moorings, and car parking (if you can find any) in the town.

There is a difference in knowing the path and walking the path...
