Split mitre post closes Rochdale

A SPLIT mitre post has closed the Rochdale at Failsworth.
Canal & River Trust state that a boat has hit the mitre post on Tannersfield Highest Lock (66) at Failsworth, and split it, Keith Gudgin reports.
Closed
This means that the lock is currently out of action and the navigation closed.
It is expected that there will be an inspection today, Monday, after which more information shouldl be available.
