Super-fast dredging

WE ARE told by Canal & River Trust (CaRT) that the mainline of the Trent & Mersey Canal is going to be dredged in just six weeks.

The mainline consists of 93 miles from Derwent Mouth to Preston Brook, that CaRT tells us will be dredged between Monday 11th November and Friday 20th December.

Moorings too

Not only the mainline, but moorings too will be dredged, with boaters taking care when the dredging is taking place.

And to describe it—'dredging of mainline and moorings to bring the canal up to compliance'.

NB: CaRT is also dredging the Macclesfield Canal in the same time-scale, obviously attempting to fool us into believing it is dredging the whole canals, when we know it is a little spot dredging...
