POLICE are searching the Ashby Canal near Hinckley where a woman was murdered earlier this month.

They also want to question two men who they believe may have information about the murder, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Shooting

Hayley Pointon died in a shooting on 3rd February at a house in Hinckley, with the post mortem showing she died from a single bullet wound.

Specialist officers from an underwater search team started the search of the waterway earlier this week as part of the investigation.

A spokesman for the police related:

"At the heart of this investigation is a young mother who should still be here with her two children and we cannot forget that. Someone knows what happened to Hayley, someone knows why it happened and someone knows who took her life and any information will still be extremely important to this investigation."

Two men were arrested in connection with the killing, but released on bail.
