Chairman wanted for K&A

Published: Wednesday, 20 February 2013

THE Kennet & Avon Waterway Partnership is wanting a chairman for the organisation—someone who has experience of working with local authorities and business at a senior level.

The partnership plays a key part in shaping how the Kennet & Avon and Bridgwater & Taunton canals are run, and helps to give people a greater role in looking after their local waterways.

Ambassador

Reporting to the chairman of trustees and council of Canal & River Trust, he or she would be an ambassador for the two waterways, and expect to have a track record of championing the interests of community and voluntary sector organisations

The position will be unpaid but expenses will be paid for giving two to four days a month.

Exciting

Roger Hanbury, Head of Governance Services at CaRT explained:

"This is an exciting role in a new charity. We are looking for an outstanding person to help take us forward as the Trust develops its work in its formative years.
