Rescued from Trent

ANOTHER narrowboater has taken little notice of the sandbanks of the Trent, and become grounded, having to be rescued.

Usually when a boat becomes grounded on the tidal river, the crew wait for the oncoming tide to re-float the boat, but in this case the fire service was called out.

Steered onto sandbank

This happened at Beckingham where the boater steered onto the hidden sandbank, and the man and his dog were rescued by fire fighters and a specialist rescue team from Tuxford.

The fire fighters used ropes to secure the boat then a ladder to bring the man and his dog to the shore.  It is not known what happened to the boat.
