Festival at Anderton

ANDERTON Boat Lift is the host of a six weeks  music and arts festival.

The festival starts tomorrow, 12th July and runs until the 20th of August, with highlights including Adrian Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds, Nearly Dan, and John Helliwell (of Supertramp fame).

In addition to live music, other events include schools performances, an arts and crafts fair, farmers market, teddy bears' picnic and for the energetic—a zumba workshop.

Events will take place on an outside stage in the grounds of the lift and are organised by the charity Development of the Arts in Northwich.

Timothy Turner, Anderton Boat Lift Manager, explains:

"Development of the Arts in Northwich have done a great job putting together this exciting programme of events and what better setting to celebrate music, arts, food and dance then next to this fascinating local landmark. Festival goers are more than welcome to bring a picnic, and there will also be a licensed bar available on site."
