SCOTTISH Canals have revealed that the Union Canal at Fountainbridge is set for transformation.
In a partnership that includes the City of Edinburgh Council, £330,000 will be spent on upgrading the Union Canal (pictured) towpath and installing new moorings, including 'vibrant landscaping'.
More money for towpaths
But the Crinan Canal will do better, with a £880,000 investment—but alas just for upgrading its towpath.
With Scottish Canals stating that 'Britain's most beautiful short-cut, will soon become just as easy to navigate from end to end on boot and bike as it is by boat thanks to the investment for towpath upgrades'.
