I think that David Cooke who is building the new marina at Wooton Wawen on the Stratford Canal is stretching it a bit telling that there are only two mooring available within 30 miles, writes Joe Eastmead.
It certainly is not 30 miles down the Avon to the marina at Evesham and it is not even 30 miles into Birmingham and its marinas on the canals.
Into marinas
Perhaps this was a way of getting planning permission, and I see that he told the Stratford Herald that Canal & River Trust want boats off the bank into marinas.
If the marina does get boats off the bank into his marina I won't be complaining, but what is happening is that people are moving their boats from marina to marina to get a fresh mooring area.
