I don't know what others think, but I think it is daft choice for Coventry [Canal] Society to pick the Stop Lock at Hawkesbury Junction for lock winding.
It wants to take a leaf out of the Shropshire Union [Canal] Society to do its lock winding and get a 'proper' lock as the members do at Venetian Marina on the Middlewich Branch every year.
Help on those two at Tamworth on the Coventry would be much more useful to us boaters instead of the petty little thing at the junction, or perhaps the members don't care for a bit of hard work?
