TO ASSIST boaters at Hawkesbury Junction there is to be a lock winding day organised by the Coventry Canal Society.
This will be held on Saturday 10th September, but strangely it will be held at the lock at the junction between the Coventry and Oxford canals, that is only 1ft 1inch!
Refreshments and information
Boaters will be locked through between the hours of 10am and 5pm and there will be refreshments and information concerning the Coventry Canal Society. Keith Gudgin tells us.
For the duration there will be no mooring in the vicinity, but it seems strange that the society should choose the easiest lock on the canal rather than a more 'stressful' lock could really assist boaters rather than one just over one foot!
