WATERWAY closure number five this week that was on the Ouse at Selby, was very quickly attended to.
But perhaps before we start rejoicing that closures are now being attended to quickly by Canal & river Trust, this was a road toll bridge that was out of action, with its owners obviously putting on pressure.
Road traffic
The bridge was stuck in its open position, and though okay for river traffic, it was no longer available for the road traffic.
It was yesterday morning (Tuesday) that the bridge failed, but engineers were quickly despatched with the bridge working again by noon!
