THE Environmental Agency is clamping down on the owners of unregistered boats on the Thames, taking boaters to court.

The two latest to be prosecuted by the agency for failing to register their boats are Christopher Ackerman and Khameel Malbocus, Roger Fox tells us.

No valid plate

Christopher Ackerman was ordered to pay £1181.15 for failing to display a valid registration plate on his boat Longwood Lady, with Khameel Malbocus fined £673 after pleading guilty to having no valid licence displayed or registration.

Both boaters had been first warned by Environmental Agency enforcement officers but chose to ignore the warnings.
