River take-over causing tensions

THE moorers who are attempting to lay claim to a river bank at Oxford (Another attempt to grab river bank) are causing tensions amongst people living nearby.
The boat moorers have roped-off a large section of the river bank near Abbey Road in Oxford, that they are claiming, with the intention of setting up a resident community, Alan Tilbury tells us.
Noise and squalor
However locals are against the move as they do not want the noise and squalor of resident boaters on their doorsteps. These are understood to be the same boaters who were thwarted with their attempt to claim the banks of Castle Mill Stream, so are attempting another land grab.
Matters have reached such a pitch that the police have become involved, and warned of the growing tensions.
