VISITORS to the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port will be entering a winter wonderland this festive season, with a host of seasonal attractions adding traditional Christmas magic to the occasions.

Every Saturday and Sunday from 7th December and then everyday between the 21st and 24th December, Santa is parking his sleigh and boarding the trip boat dispensing good cheer to all, plus gifts to youngsters. The magic will continue after the boat trip along the canal with a Christmas tale in Santa's grotto. Refreshments, fun and surprises will guarantee a Christmas event to remember.

John Inch, National Waterway Museum General Manager, explained:

"This year's theme is Santa's Candy Mine. The Santa Cruises are always one of the highlights of the museum calendar and we're all looking forwards to welcoming many happy families to the museum this December. We're expecting a busy December and we're advising people to book their boat trip in advance to make sure they don't miss out."

This year's Christmas celebrations will also include A Christmas Canal—The Boaty Theatre Company's own take on the traditional Dickens Christmas classic, that will be on 21st and 22nd December.

Tickets for all these events can be purchased in person from the museum or by telephoning 0151 355 5017.

The National Waterways Museum is open for most of the winter, only closing from Christmas Day to New Year's Day.
