Holiday boaters affected

IT IS claimed that holiday boaters will be affected by the new moorings rules that state there can be no return to a mooring within a month.

On the proposed eight hotspots as I understand it you will be able to stay for a period of 14 days but not return within a month, writes Ian Waters.

Cause problems

On the Grand Union this would apply at Berkhamsted, Marsworth and Stoke Bruerne. I foresee that this will cause problems for those making an out and back cruise in the summer, as surely if the rules are enforced strictly, you will be able to stop on the outward leg of your journey but not again on the way back!

Does this mean that on your return journey you will be expected to cough up £25 to CaRT if you stop off in the same hot-spot?  Berkhamsted in particular is popular in both directions because of the local supermarkets.

Also. who will be doing all the checking that will be required, but will they have a thick enough skin to collect the fines when due!
