Coombeswood Canal Trust's Open Weekend

MEMBERS of the Combeswood Canal Trust are gearing-up for their open weekend, with narrowboats and entertainment already booked.

Held on the weekend of 18th and 19th May, this will take place at Hawne Basin on the Dudley No 2 Canal, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Many boats

It will see many boats descending on the basin where the event will be opened at 11am on the Saturday by James Morris, MP, with the organisers hoping local people will come along and offer their support.

There will be live music, a real ale bar, refreshments, Appalachian Dancers (pictured), waterways societies' displays, live music and entertainment for children.

Hawne Basin, is a working boat yard, that provides moorings for over 80 narrowboats, with the two historic ex-working boats Atlas and Malus being present.
