New Avon bridge

THERE is to be a new bridge over the Avon at Evesham, but it will be four months late, so not ready until February of next year.
This will be of modern design and will replace the old Abbey Bridge that spans the river, Alan Tilbury tells us.
Causing concern
However, it is not without its problems, with road lane closures and hold-ups to traffic that are causing concern to residents.
The original opening date was set for October of this year, but the county council is blaming the weather and planning conditions for the delay in its construction.
Boating traffic will be affected from time to time as now the main construction work has begun.
