IT SEEMS that Middlewich on the Trent & Mersey Canal is not the place to leave your boat unattended, with it having a record of break-ins.
Over the last few days two boats have been broken into in Middlewich, yet again, Dave King writes.
Bolt cutters
One boat was above Big Lock and the other below. The boat below Big Lock was entered by removing the lock on the rear hatch with bolt cutters.
The inside was searched and jewellery taken. Three mushroom vents were also taken from the roof. The Scenes of Crime Officer attending says gloves were warn by the criminals. These attacks are very similar to others reported in Middlewich over time.
