IN ADDITION to the Olympic Torch crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct on the Llangollen Canal and the Falkirk Wheel is has now travelled down Foxton Locks.

The torch was carried by Rob Gomez on a traditional work boat down the locks on Monday, 4th July—the second time he had carried the torch.

Many villages

During the day it was seen in many villages around Leicestershire, including by the Grand Union Canal at Abbey Park in Leicester, its 45th day of travel, arriving at Foxton Locks

A small crowd gathered at the locks to see the boat descend carrying the torch, with most of the people in the village where there was entertainment.
