Historic boats at Droitwich

HISTORIC boats took advantage of the recently opened Droitwich Canal when they had their annual gathering at Vines Park in the town.

Over 40 boats belonging to members of the Historic Narrowboat Owners Club (HNBOC) were moored in Droitwich Marina and along Vines Park as part of its annual get-together.

Welcomed

Members were welcomed to the town by Mayor of Droitwich Spa, Councillor Mike Barratt, and the Chairman of Droitwich Waterways Trust, Pam Davey.

The mayor pointed out that so many visiting boats brought the canal back to life, and possibly some had actually worked the waterway in the past.

During the visit many activities were organised including town walks, ghost walks and an organ recital in St.Andrew's Church.
