Crick success

Over 21,000 visitors and a sell-out of floating exhibitor space helped make the 2011 Crick Boat Show the best for years, British Waterways reveal.

Visitor numbers at the show were in excess of 21,500—the highest number recorded for more than four years. Floating exhibitor space was completely sold out and the two marinas (floating and land based) provided a real showcase for the high quality of workmanship that our canal boat builders offer the public.

Recovering

With many exhibitors reporting record sales, the show proved a marketing boost amid signs that the inland waterway industry is recovering from the effects of the recession, we are told.

The trip boats were once again a huge success—managed by the London Narrowboat Project. They were full throughout each day and gave those new to boating a taste of being afloat.

Well attended

The seminars were well attended on all three days showing a wide ranging and interest in the future of the new waterways charity, as well as an eagerness to learn about boat buying and boat ownership.

The 2011 show was a brand new partnership between British Waterways and Waterways World.
