Two arrested over drowning

A MAN and a woman have been arrested after the discovery of a man's body in the Lee & Stort Navigation at Ware.

The body was discovered by the police on Wednesday, who had been searching for the missing man Daniel Cockman, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, with formal identification of the body yet to be carried out, Alan Tilbury reveals.

In custody

A 40 years old man and a 27 years old woman, both from Ware, had been arrested and were in custody, in connection with the drowning.

The police received calls late on Tuesday evening from members of the public who had heard a man in the river shouting for help, with officers searching the area, bringing in the police helicopter and alerting Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The body was discovered during the afternoon of Wednesday, after Thames Valley Police divers joined the search.
