TUEL HILL LOCK 1 ON THE Rochdale Canal is to be closed for two weeks.
This was from yesterday, Friday, Keith Gudgin reports.
The stoppage is out of the hands of he Canal & River Trust as it is to allow works to a neighbouring property.
Essential
The works are essential as water from the waterway is damaging the property by the canal and the work is to stop the property being further damaged. The image is of the tunnel goimng towards the lock.
It is expected that these works will take up to two weeks to complete, with the lock expected to reopen on Friday 12th June.
If work is finished sooner then Tuel Lock will be re-opened earlier than stated.
