REPAIRS to Lock 92 on the Rochdale Nine have been completed with the navigation reopened this morning, Thursday.

Lock92RochdaleIn this instance the cause of the failure was not stated by Canal & River Trust, only that it was 'vandalism', Keith Gudgin reports.

It was on Thursday of last week that the lock (pictured) was out of use thus closing the Rochdale Nine in Manchester for a week.

Another Rochdale stoppage

It was discovered yesterday that the offside head paddle frame had broken away from its attachment to the wall, closing navigation at Callis Lock (13) at Hebden Bridge.

But this time it should be a simple job to fix, with the hope that the navigation will reopen later today, but only as a temporary repair, but at least it will have the navigation open again.
