SEVERAL WEEKS HAVE BEEN played in sort of 'whack-a-mole' process of digging out soft spots then filling them with stone at Whitchurch, writes Alan Yates.

It finally looks like progress is being made creating the initial base of limestone hardcore. 

The photo shows the crew tidying up the edges of the base layer.

Strengthening work  

Hopefully, the deployment of the strengthening layer of 'exagrid' material can start soon and the real work of building a replacement embankment can begin.
