A FIRE crew gave boaters in a marina advice on fire safety in boats.

Red Watch fire crew from Banbury gave the advice to boaters at Cropredy Marina situated just north of the town on the Oxford Canal, reports Alan Tilbury.

So much water

Members of the crew warned that with so much water around, there can be a tendency to think that there is a reduced risk of fire.

They advised boat owners to install and check not only smoke alarms but carbon monoxide alarms too, that are particularly important where solid fuel stoves are used.
