A WIDEBEAM has been turned into a café on the Avon at Bath.

Though originally a party boat on the river, the Penny Lane has been transformed into a café and moored just below Pulteney Bridge, Alan Tilbury reports.

Licenced

As a party boat it was known as the Pride of Bath cruising the river since 1981, but it is now licenced by the Bath couple Paul Brimble and Teresa Hall into an eatery.

The boat has been given a thorough makeover serving food and drinks from 9am until 11pm on weekdays and often open as late as 1am on weekends if there is demand.

Dining room

The couple source the ingredients for their meals locally wherever possible, and state it is being well received. It is served on the lower deck that has been transformed into a dining room complete with  saloon, dance floor, kitchen and fully licensed bar.
