Another Leeds & Liverpool closure

IN ADDITION to the many lock restrictions on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, there is another closure.

The head gates of Lock 61 have failed with the lock now closed, Keith Gudgin reports.

Flight closed

As this lock is part of the Johnson's Hill Flight, the flight is now closed to navigation.

Canal & River Trust state that the closure is from Lock 61 to Lock 4, but it can only be assumed that this is another misinformation 'Cartism', otherwise is means that virtually the entire Leeds & Liverpool is closed!

Many boaters suffering the long closure of the waterway last year could perhaps well believe it.
