Man assaulted on towpath in hospital

A MAN assaulted by two men on the towpath of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal had to be taken to hospital.

However police were called by an onlooker and were quickly on the scene catching the two men assaulting the man, Alan Tilbury reports.

Taken into custody

The two men were arrested, bundled into the police van that had attended, and taken into custody.

The attack occurred on the towpath by Whitehall Bridge in Leeds, with the man attacked suffering head injuries that warranted hospital treatment.
