THE LONG POUND BETWEEN Foxton and Watford flights is scheduled to close on Tuesday 1st September.
When the water level is expected to be too low for navigation Keith Gudgin reports.
Closed and locked
Then both flights will be closed and locked.
But could go either way, providing we get heavy rainfall and it keeps open but if more water is used on the two flights than expected it could be closed sooner.
When closed, this will cut off all the marinas, including Crick, and moorings on this part of the Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal and the Market Harborough Arm.
Bank holiday weekend
There are restricted opening times over the Bank Holiday weekend to include Monday 31st August, with the locks open from 8am to 12pm, with the last boat entering at 11am.
Then all will be closed.
