I HAVE monitored the 'News Flash' writings on narrowboatworld for some years, writes Bill Ridgeway.
There have been 21 items since 1st January biased towards contentious issues and 'bad' news and covering a wide variety of topics over the whole of the system—which is about what is expected of any journalistic publication.
Compare with the IWA
Compare that with the offering of the Inland Waterways Association (IWA) News Archive https://www.waterways.org.uk/news/list, where over the same period, there are seven items all of which are promoting the IWA and what good things it has done.
That is not in itself a bad thing. However, it does raise the question what does the IWA effectively do for its members?
