THE body of schoolgirl Lindsay Jo Rimer was discovered in the Rochdale Canal at Hebden Bridge 21 years ago, with no one arrested—until now.
A 63-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of the teenager Lindsay, who was just 13 years old when she was last seen alive on the 7th November 1994.
Buying cornflakes
It was in 1994 that Lindsay was last seen alive buying cornflakes from a local shop in Hepden Bridge, but it was five months later that the schoolgirl's body was found weighted down at the bottom of the Rochdale Canal.
The man was arrested yesterday, Tuesday, and is now in police custody being questioned by detectives.
