STILL another boat sunk in a lock—this time on the Lee Navigation, with it now closed, even though the lock is paired.
The boat is sunk in Stonebridge Lock (16) at Tottenham by Lockwood Reservoir, with not intimation when it will be raised, Keith Gudgin tells us.
Paired lock
This is a paired lock, and it is the powered East lock where the boat is sunk, but as the West manual lock is not operable, the navigation is closed.
Boater 'Andrew' held up at the lock tells us that he hopes it does not take as long to raise as the one on the Kennet & Avon Canal that took seven days, adding that it is now the busy holiday period.
LATEST:
The lock is now open. (Friday 19th.)
