THE Kennet & Avon Canal is closed at Fobney Lock (105) South of Reading, but this time not the fault of Canal & River Trust.
A boater had managed to sink his boat in the lock and close the navigation until it can be removed, Keith Gudgin tells us.
We wonder if it is the same boater who had his boat wedged in nearby Reading?

The boat is still in the lock today (Thursday) but is expected to be removed by tomorrow morning when the waterway will be reopened.
Quick repair
Though the Staffs & Worcs Canal was closed yesterday (Tuesday) due to a broken beam, it was repaired and re-opened later in the afternoon.
