Last week I did the 25 miles up the Trent from Keadby, which I was told was pronounced 'Kidby!' to Torksey then on the next day to Newark, outside the old BW offices, a further 19 miles.

We had just learned of the millions of visits to the towpaths, so wanted to calculate how many in that 44 miles, that we could easily do with four crew, as we were able to define the towpath as it is shown in Nicholson's, and all together we counted 42 people that included Gainsborough and Newark.

I've no idea how many there should have been, a few thousand no doubt according to CaRT, which leaves me to ask if they were not there, where were they?
