THERE are reports of a number of narrowboats being broken into along the Grand Union Canal at Milton Keynes, though the exact area is not stated.

Four boats have had their locks ripped off, Densil Ponting tells us, with the interiors left in a mess, he believing it was someone on a 'wrecking spree'.

Ripped off

It is not known if anything was stolen, but Densil says that looking through the windows even cupboards have been ripped off with one boat having its stove pulled out and left on its side. One boat however that had its lock broken off seemed okay.

Another had 'all sorts of stuff sprayed about the interior', and it seems it was vandalism. It is of course not known if a single person or a gang.  It occurred last Thursday night.
