THE proposed 'new town' to be built by the Grand Union at Old Oak Common is to include a new basin, according to the plans.
This massive development is on the old Cargiant site that covers 46 acres with a 'new town' planned at an estimated cost of £5 billion, Roger Fox tells us.
Tallest residential tower
This is the site of the old Rolls Royce factory, and is to include tower blocks, with one of 45 storeys that will be constructed at the centre of the site, that will become one of the tallest residential towers in London.
The Rolls Royce works built the bodies for the Silver Ghost and Bentley at the works after it was constructed just after the war, but stopped production in 1982.
Though it was originally planned to create 9,000 homes on the site, this was lowered to 7,000 and now stands at 6,5000, but it is not stated if any will be 'affordable'.
