THE Waterways Manager for Central Shires, Darren Green, is leaving Canal & River Trust after 16 years.

The Trust tell us that he has 'contributed to the success of the organisation in a number of roles during that time', yet narrowboatworld has contained complaints of his 'excuse attitude' towards problems put forward by boaters.

Gone unattended

Instances include the failed bywash at Barton Turns that has not been attended to for two seasons, and the many complaints concerning the difficult Aston broad lock, often reported, have gone unattended.

Central Shires is being managed by East Midland's Seán McGinley whilst a replacement is found.
