A VEHICLE smashing into the Wendover Arm Bridge at New Mill, on the Grand Union Canal had a lucky escape when it stopped.
The driver escaped injury and was able to get out of his vehicle that stopped on the road instead of going through and into the waterway Howard Clarke tells us.
Road closed
There is no intimation from Canal & River Trust if the navigation is affected, but the road is—it is now closed.
Once again, no doubt there will be the argument of who pays for the repair.
