THERE of course have to be delights to tempt those 360,000,000 visitors that Canal & River Trust would like us to believe visit its waterways every year.

Here's one of them, shown in Howard Clarke's pictures taken 200 yards South of the Grand Junction Arms at Bulbourne, Tring on the summit of the Grand Union Canal, with obviously the owner having no intention to return, so left as a visitor 'attraction'.

Little wonder

Though of course on a cold early April day not many of those visitors to be seen, and perhaps little wonder.

As all cruising boaters are aware the waterways— particularly the canals — are littered with such discarded boats that surely should be removed as soon as possible.

The system now in force to remove such boats is for CaRT to attempt to contact the owners, more often obviously long gone, and with also no name or number on such boats, surely they should simply be taken out and scrapped to make the canals the delight so often claimed.
