Using boat for commercial purposes

I PERFECTLY understand and feel that in response to the accusation that I am in breach of the Terms & Conditions I would like to make the following statement. [This concerns the boater at Popular Dock Marina relating to using his boat for commercial operation.] writes Rod Taylor.

I am currently in negotiations with Derek Newton on two aspects of the accusation that I am in breach of the Terms & Conditions. I am being accused of using my boat Wylam for commercial purposes by being self employed.

Boat brokering

I had a meeting with Derek on Dec 19th to explain to him that I have been self employed most of my life and that being self employed entails working from home. I explained further that in doing some boat brokering as a retirement job all my dealings are done over the internet and do not directly involve the use of my boat.

Wylam is my home and I am currently on a fully residential contract with my mooring fees paid up to 31st Dec 2014.

Family and friends

The second accusation of using my boat for commercial purposes is that we have family and friends staying with us and contributing to the household budget. Apart from the fact that Anne and I can no longer do some of the heavier jobs around the boat and it is good to have some young people around to help us, we rely on them contributing to the household budget and to pay the ever increasing mooring fees.

I therefore feel that it is extremely bad form of Darren Bramhall to accuse me of being in breach of the Terms & Conditions when these misunderstandings can be sorted out with a bit of common sense and the fact that I am still waiting for a response to a follow up letter explaining everything to Derek.

I also categorically refute Darren Bramhall's accusation that I am aggressive to members of BWML staff.
