Culvert collapsed

THE Staffs Worcs Canal  is now closed at Cross Green Bridge, by the Fox & Anchor at Coven, with boaters caught out by a failed culvert, Derek Willetts tells us.

 

He was on his way back to moorings on the Shroppie when he saw the signs, found the bridge blocked and stop-planks in.

Water lost

It seems there has been work going on for some time between Cross Green Bridge and the winding hole by the Coven moorings, with water being lost.

Derek was told by a worker that a stoppage will be in place 'for about three weeks', with a couple of boats now caught by the stoppage at the Anchor.
