Body in lock

AFTER a search for a missing woman, her body was discovered in Abingdon Lock on the Thames.

The emergency services had been alerted that a 69 years old woman had gone missing early yesterday (Wednesday) morning, with the police searching around the river, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Dog walker

The body was discovered in the early afternoon by a dog walker who was passing the lock, and contacted the police, who reported that the death was being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

The family of the woman do not want her to be identified.
