Horse boating at festival

THE Horse Boating Society are running horse drawn boat cruises as part of the Rochdale Canal Festival.

These will be tomorrow, Thursday, 18th August and next Thursday, 25th August at Hebden Bridge.

First time

Though the society has been present at the  festivals in the past, this is the first time the boats will be used for passenger trips along the waterway.

The purpose built passenger boat will be pulled by  Bilbo, supplied by Sue Day, of the society. It  leaves Hebden Bridge at 10am, passing through five locks before arriving at Todmorden in time for lunch. The return trip leaves Todmorden at 3pm arriving back in Hebden Bridge at 6pm.

Ticket prices start at £9.95 for an adult single.
