Boaters’ Big Bash event

THE BOATERS' BIG BASH event is to be held at Westbourne Park on the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal.

The National Bargee Travellers Association (NBTA) tell it is proud to present the ‘Boaters’ Big Bash—a vibrant, family-friendly day of music, stalls, and community action on Friday 14th June from 12:00pm.

Boaters, friends, and supporters can come together to protest the Canal & River Trust’s (CRT) unfair surcharge on boats without a home mooring.

The surcharge discriminates against continuous cruisers, many of whom permanently live on the waterways year-round and already face significant challenges.

The fee threatens to price people off the water and undermine a traditional, sustainable way of life.

With CRT also currently conducting a biased and existentially threatening review into the future of boat licensing, it’s time to prove that the canals are better with boats!

Let's make some noise

Come along for live bands, independent stalls, and activities for all ages. Let’s make some noise, celebrate our community, and stand up for fair treatment on the towpath!  Everyone welcome, by boot or by boat.
