Objections to another marina

Residents of   Lowsonford have voiced objections to the proposed marina by the waterway at their village.

Nearly 100 of them are opposed to the building of the marina on the Stratford-on-Avon Canal, and have formed the Lowsonford Anti-Marina Action Group, purposely to fight the plans. The picture shows Lowsonford Lock near the village.

The objection to the 100 berth marina was outlined by the group's Chairman, Tudor Evans:

"The scale of the development is inappropriate, and would overpower this rural location. Marinas have a role to play in canal life but it is wrong for a small and peaceful hamlet like Lowsonford to be blighted by such a commercial enterprise."
